Most people sense something about others before a single word is spoken. A room feels heavy or light. Someone walks in and the atmosphere shifts. That impression is not random. The electromagnetic field that surrounds every living body carries information. This field has been called the aura for centuries. And it can be read.

What is an aura?

Every living organism generates a bioelectromagnetic field. The heart alone produces an electrical signal measurable several meters from the body. The HeartMath Institute has documented this extensively. Cells communicate through biophotons. And around the entire body, a subtle, layered energy field forms.

Different cultures have described this field in their own terms. In Sanskrit, it is called prana. In Chinese tradition, qi. Christian iconography depicts saints with halos. Different words, but they all point to the same phenomenon: an energetic envelope that extends beyond the physical body.

Today, technology can make parts of this field visible. Kirlian photography captures corona discharges at the fingertips. The GDV system (Gas Discharge Visualization), developed by Konstantin Korotkov, constructs a full-body image from those readings. None of these methods capture the aura completely. But they confirm that something is there. And that it changes.

Aura colours and what they mean

The aura is often described in colours. These colours are not fixed labels. They indicate tendencies, not diagnoses. And they shift. What dominates today may look different tomorrow.

Blue appears frequently in people who are in a calm, communicative state. Teachers, counsellors, regular meditators often carry a lot of blue. Green relates to growth and healing. It shows up in people who are in a phase of change or who support others through theirs. Yellow appears with clear, alert thinking. Curiosity, optimism, intellectual presence.

Red speaks of life force and physical energy. Passion, determination, but also tension. Violet tends to show in people with strong intuitive or spiritual orientation. White is rare and associated with high energetic frequency.

The important thing: these associations are not laws of nature. They are patterns observed across many readings. Your aura is not a personality quiz. It is a mirror of your current state. And that state is closely connected to what is happening in your chakras and at your consciousness level on the Hawkins scale.

How does an aura reading work?

There are several approaches. Some readers work purely intuitively. They see or sense the field and describe what they perceive. Others use technology such as the Bio-Well system or other biofield scanners to capture data and then interpret it.

A typical aura reading covers multiple layers. First, the overall field strength: how far does your field extend, and how stable is it? Then the colour distribution: which qualities are dominant right now? And finally, the layers themselves. The aura consists of several strata, from the etheric body close to the skin to the subtler layers further out. Each layer carries different information.

Hybrid approaches combine technology and human perception. The scanner provides the data. The interpretation puts it into context.

Aura reading vs. aura photography

These are two different things, though they often get confused. Aura photography, such as the Kirlian method, captures a single moment. It shows a snapshot of your field at one point in time. Think of it as a photograph compared to a film.

An aura reading goes deeper. It interprets patterns, recognises recurring themes, sees connections between the different layers, and brings what is observed into a personal context. Photography shows you the image. A reading tells you the story behind it.

Both have value. Photography makes something invisible tangible. A reading makes it understandable.

What you can learn from your aura

A good aura reading gives you insight into things you may already feel but have not yet put into words.

Your emotional state shows in the field, often more clearly than in conscious awareness. Are you carrying heaviness right now? Are you further along than you think? The field does not filter through the mind, so it does not rationalise or suppress.

Energetic boundaries become visible. Some people have a strong, clearly defined field. Others are energetically porous: they absorb what is not theirs and feel drained afterwards without understanding why. A reading can show where your field is stable and where it needs support.

Areas of vitality and areas of depletion can be identified. Where does the energy flow freely? Where does it stagnate? Where is it absent? This information connects directly to how you feel in your body, in your relationships, in your daily life.

Your aura portrait

A Biofield Scan includes a detailed aura reading as part of a comprehensive energy profile. Beyond the aura analysis, the scan covers chakra analysis, your consciousness level according to David R. Hawkins, an assessment of your DNA activation, and a personal mandala that captures your current energy pattern as an image.

The result is not a quick snapshot. It is a complete picture of where you stand energetically right now.
